POSITION OVERVIEW

Our Chief Technology Officer will ensure the company has the right technology, people and processes to support our aggressive goals. We are at a key inflection point where our market opportunity should be explosive. As our CTO, you will be expected to possess exceptional, executive-level leadership skills in the areas of technology leadership, product development, production operations, strategy and information security to drive us forward. You will work with other company Executives and IT personnel to consistently build our competitive edge in our disruptive industry.  

The ideal CTO candidate will have experience in the broad connected vehicle platform space.  They should have experience in a wide range of tech stacks, is a demonstrated leader and mentor, and who has experience building and managing world-class dev teams. As CTO, you will be responsible not only for developing our engineering team but managing strategy and roadmaps to ensure our overall success. Successful candidates will have a strong desire to work across all aspects of the organization, understand business needs and have the ability to ensure the team executes at all levels.

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN BRING TO US

  • 10+ years in engineering, including strategic responsibility in leading, developing and managing a team
  • The ideal candidate has prior experience leading a technology team (preferably as CTO, VP of Tech, VP of Engineering or similar)
  • Ability to keep up with and understand the latest languages and tech stacks
    • Familiar with and/or have an understanding of a variety of technology stacks including but not limited to:
      • Modern JS framework (React/Vue/Angular) 
      • Flutter
      • NoSQL (DynamoDB/Mongo) and SQL (Postgres/MySQL) data models
      • PHP/Java/Rails/Python 
      • AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, RDS, CloudFront
    • Strong experience with AWS or GCP Cloud deployments 
    • Understanding of emerging trends including AI, IoT, 5G, telematics, Machine Learning, Edge Computing, etc. 
    • Proven success developing, implementing and executing internal process, training and operational improvements 
  • Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, agile, high-growth environment
    • Ability to hire, build and retain high-performance teams
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate cross-functionally and interact with executive leaders

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and technical support to the development team to ensure that projects are completed on spec. and on time
  • Coach and develop your team by sharing your insights and knowledge to help ensure their continued growth and development
  • Interact with Executive leadership and cascade information and objectives from leadership back to your team, ensuring alignment with big-picture strategy 
  • Understand business processes and current systems and provide recommendations for technology and process enhancements that drive company growth
  • Implement, oversee, and manage internal processes to ensure they are effective and executed upon
  • Drive the development of technical standards and practices
  • Encourage and guide conversations around scope, solutions, release plans and prioritization
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop technology-led solutions 
  • Own the definition, delivery and validation of product roadmaps
